Workers Credit Union wants payday to come early.
The community credit union has rolled out ‘Workers Early Pay Day,’ which will directly deposit paychecks up to 24 hours earlier than normal.
“This is a great benefit. Those who have Workers checking account and a direct deposit paycheck will have faster access to their money, said Doug Petersen, president and CEO of Workers Credit Union.

According to Petersen, it is simple to set up ‘Workers Early Pay Day.’ If someone doesn’t have a Workers checking account, they can open one online or at any branch. The employee will need to arrange for direct deposit of their paycheck into the checking account.
“That is really it. The funds will be available up to a day before the company’s normal payday,” Peterson said. Additional information about the program can be found on the credit union’s website, www.wcu.com.
