$15K Heroin Deal Broken Up in Andover: Police

Police said they arrested heroin trafficker Jose Morales, 27, of Lawrence, and a New Hampshire woman.

ANDOVER, MA — A major drug deal involving over 350 grams of heroin worth $15,000 was broken up in Andover Saturday morning, police said. Jose Morales, 27, of Lawrence, was charged with heroin trafficking. Christine Soukaras, of Nashua, New Hampshire, was charged with heroin possession.

The deal happened on Campanelli Road at about 11:30 a.m., police said. Soukaras allegedly tried to purchase heroin belonging Morales, police said. Detectives witnessed the transaction, according to Andover Police Chief Patrick Keefe. A search of Morales' 2010 Mercedes sport utility vehicle turned up about 350 grams of heroin worth about $15,000 and a small amount of cash, police said.

Morales was held on $50,000 bail pending an arraignment.
