Andover Choral Society - Calling All Singers!

The Andover Choral Society, directed by Michael Driscoll, invites those who enjoy singing fine choral music, to attend open rehearsals from 7:20 p.m.-9:30 p.m. on Monday, September 19 and Monday September 26 at Christ Church, 25 Central Street in Andover.

On Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the North Andover High School auditorium, the chorus will perform works of several Argentinian composers, including Martín Palmeri’s Misatango, a brilliant pairing of the ancient Latin mass text with the exhilarating rhythms of an Argentinian tango. On Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at the Pike School in Andover, the chorus will perform “Peace Like a River” a concert featuring Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass and two contemporary pieces, September Sun commemorating those who perished on September 11, 2001 and Peace Like a River, an uplifting African-American spiritual. Each concert will be sung with professional orchestra and soloists.

Andover Choral Society is a community chorus beginning its 87th season. Membership is open to all who enjoy singing and are comfortable following a choral score. The chorus performs two concerts per year, with a repertoire that focuses on choral works from the Baroque era to the 21st century.
