Andover Coronavirus: 158 Confirmed Cases, Long-Term Care Testing
Data released by the state Wednesday shows that four out of every 1,000 residents have tested positive for the virus.
ANDOVER, MA — Over 150 Andover residents have tested positive for the new coronavirus, as of Wednesday afternoon, according to data released by the state. There are 158 confirmed cases in town, or 438.7 per 100,000 residents.
The total cases has roughly doubled over the last week, from 77 cases reported by the town April 15.
As of Tuesday, the latest data released by the town, 71 of the towns cases were active, of 147 at the time.

The town noted that the number of cases has increased significantly in part due to "proactive testing at long-term care facilities." The National Guard has been testing residents and staff at long-term care facilities around the state, as part of efforts to catch outbreaks before they grow out of control.
