Andover Coronavirus Update: 7 Cases, Testing Available Nearby
The town said there are seven confirmed cases, as of Friday afternoon.
ANDOVER, MA — Andover has 7 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus as of Friday afternoon, the town reported. The residents are isolated and public health officials followed up with their contacts. No additional information can be released, for privacy reasons.
"The Town takes this opportunity to remind residents that it is expected that positive cases in the region will continue to be identified as testing becomes more available," the town said. "Please remember that most cases recover at home and once they have recovered, they will no longer be under isolation restrictions. Residents are encouraged to continue social distancing measures, practice good hand hygiene, and to stay at home if you do not feel well."
The town also reminded residents not to congregate in parks or playgrounds.

As of Friday, there are over 3,000 cases of the new virus statewide, with 35 deaths.

The town also noted two nearby locations where residents can get testing, if they have a doctor's order. Residents should call the community screening line at 978-946-8409. If they receive a doctor's order, they can get tested at the following sites:
Lawrence General Hospital
Testing is available at the Lawrence General Hospital drive-thru screening tent 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. A doctor's order is required, but an appointment is not. The tent is across the street from the Emergency Center on Prospect Street in Lawrence.
Holy Family Hospital- Haverhill Campus
The Holy Family Hospital drive-thru screening tent is also open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the hospital's Haverhill campus on 140 Lincoln Avenue. A doctor’s order is required.
