Andover Garden Club Meeting Presents "The Right-Size Flower Garden"
Expert to advise gardeners on how to create low-maintenance, drought-tolerant gardens.

Kerry Ann Mendez believes that the "bigger is better" school of gardening has given way to the "small is beautiful” viewpoint. People are busy, they are aging, and the demands of a garden can feel overwhelming. What to do? Make smarter use of the space we have and the plants we select.
Mixing humor with practical tips for creating low-maintenance high impact gardens, at the first Andover Garden Club meeting of the club year, Mendez will share the dramatic personal experience that drove her to downsize her own gardens and develop her recipe for a right-size, low-maintenance, and drought-tolerant garden. The goal is to ditch 50 percent of the work by choosing high-value plants and making simple design changes; the result is a more manageable garden that a gardener can fall in love with again.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at 10:00 AM, at South Church, 41 Central Street, Andover MA 01810. The event will begin with social time and refreshments, followed by a brief business meeting and the presentation. The $10 donation requested for guests includes refreshments.
