Wind Wreaking Havoc in Andover [Photos]

More than 1,000 customers were without power and multiple roads are closed due to damage caused by heavy winds.

More than 1,000 National Grid customers in Andover were without power and several main roads were closed due to damage caused by heavy winds.

Power has been restored to many and some roads have been reopened. Most recently, the wind caused a flagpole to break and hit glass windows at 10-12 Main Street.

Lovejoy Road is closed in the area of Sanborn School for a fractured utility pole that is threatening to fall.

Police say there were several other road closures today. Power lines and trees have been broken statewide as winds get up past 50 miles per hour in some areas.

High Street and Beacon Street have since been reopened.
