Andover Resident Scoring Against Cancer on April 4

Dana-Farber Rink Rats playing charity hockey game to benefit the Jimmy Fund.

Carol Lowenstein, an Andover resident, will be among the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute doctors, researchers, and staff who will play a charity hockey game against the Boston Bruins Alumni to benefit the Jimmy Fund, which supports adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber. The Dana-Farber Rink Rats’ game will be held at 1 p.m., April 4 at Veterans Memorial Rink in Somerville, Mass.

Carol is the associate director of the Survey and Data Management Core at Dana-Farber. She has played hockey since high school and spent many years coaching with the Andover Hockey Association when her three children were in the program, and now plays with a women’s recreational team – the Ms. Conducts. She says she saw this event as an opportunity to merge her passion for hockey with a great way to help fund the work that’s being done on both the research and clinical sides of Dana-Farber.

Carol has committed to raise $1,000 in order to play in the April 4 game. Game tickets for spectators are $20 for adults and $10 for children, and are available online and at the door. Limited free parking is available. To support Carol or purchase advance tickets, visit www.jimmyfund.org/rinkrats.
