Andover Town Meeting Scheduled For Sept. 12
Town Moderator Sheila Doherty said she believes coronavirus risk is now low enough to hold the meeting.
ANDOVER, MA — Andover's town meeting was again delayed Monday, this time to Sept. 12
Town Moderator Sheila Doherty issued another delay Monday evening, from the scheduled Aug. 22 meeting date. Doherty does not anticipate delaying the meeting again, she said.
"Although it is uncertain whether the COVID-19 emergency will have abated sufficiently by September 12, 2020 to alleviate the concerns of all our Town Residents, I believe the downward trends in the spread of the Covid 19 virus in Massachusetts, and change in anticipated weather conditions render the public health risk to voters low enough to hold the meeting at that time," Doherty wrote. "At this time, I do not anticipate that it will be necessary to further continue the Town Meeting past the September 12, 2020 date, but I reserve the right to do so if necessary."
