Andover Wants You to Get Your Training
Check out how you can get certification for CPR and proper use of an AED.
The Andover Health Division wants you to get your CPR and AED certification - just in case.
“Having the proper training to administer CPR or an AED device can be the difference between life and death for someone who is experiencing cardiac arrest,” said Thomas Carbone, Director of Public Health in Andover.
“It is critical for as many people as possible to be trained to administer CPR and AEDs until first responders arrive. As every minute passes without CPR and defibrillation, a victim’s chance of survival drops.”

A press release points out that just last Thursday three MBTA electricians and another passenger helped save a man who had stopped breathing on a Green Line platform. The rescuers credited their training for how they were able to save the man's life.
The Center for Disease Control recommends that every household and place of business should have at least one person with training in CPR and proper use of an AED.

Andover Health says you don't need to go to a medical professional for training. Instead, you can attend a class offered by the Andover Recreation Department.
