On the East side of Route 28 you will learn about the American Woolen Company's many buildings, and highlights of William Wood's planned community, "Shawsheen Village." Walk past the Balmoral Spa, playing fields, dance hall, garage, and restaurant. Learn why this side of the Village – built for Woolen Company middle management – was known at “White Shawsheen,” distinguishing it from the west side of the Village which was known as “Brick Shawsheen.”
