DCS Opens the Summer Concert Series with a New Fan Favorite

The Andover DCS free Concerts in the Park series begins on Wednesday, July 8th with Beyond the Pale.

Andover DCS’ annual Summer Concerts in the Park series is opening up with a new favorite band that is sure to get you on your feet and dancing to their Irish/Celtic rock. Back in 2015 for a second time, Beyond the Pale will kick off the season on Wednesday, July 8th in The Park at the corner of Bartlet & Chestnut streets in Andover, from 6:00-8:00 pm!

The Concerts in the Park series has been a favorite community event for over 50 years, bringing hundreds of people from all generations together on Wednesday evenings in the beautiful park in the center of downtown Andover. Concerts are free to community members, are family friendly, and great fun for all ages.

Beyond the Pale plays a sweeping array of music; from traditional Irish and contemporary Celtic tunes to classic rock tunes and just about everything in between including some original tunes. The unique sound, including a mighty fiddler, brings something special to the concert series thanks in large part to Tim Sullivan and AndoverLaw P.C., who have sponsored the event for the second year in a row. The associates at AndoverLaw specialize in estates, trusts and elder law and can be found at One Elm Square in Andover. It is through the generous support of community sponsors that Andover DCS brings in such talented groups for the summer concert series.

BTP is a five piece band that has been playing together for over 15 years and has released two CD’s. They are driven by the veteran rhythm section of Genn Arlequeeuw on drums and Ken Bechard on electric bass. Fronting the band are Sean Buckley on acoustic guitar, Joe F. Hanley on mandolin, and powerhouse fiddler Charles Landry. Combining the band’s powerful playing with their strong vocals and full harmonies you get an evening of music to be remembered.

In the case of inclement weather, concerts will be rescheduled to another date. The bands and Andover DCS will make a joint decision by 2:00 pm the day of the show as to whether the show will go on or not that evening. Updates can be found on AndoverDCS.com or on the Andover DCS social media sites (Facebook & Twitter).
