Essex Chamber Music Players concert to benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
On Sunday, April 26, the Essex Chamber Music Players will host a benefit concert in Andover.
On Sunday, April 26, the Essex Chamber Music Players will host a concert, “Essex Chambers Music Players Benefit Concert for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute,” to benefit lung cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Hear the best chamber music composed in the 17th through 21st centuries and newly created works during this exciting experience.
Guests will enjoy the music of Danzi, Ravel, Copland, Rorem and William Thomas McKinley. The Players are soprano Adriana Repetto, flutist Michael Finegold, violinist Andrew Kohji Taylor, cellist Patrick Owen and pianist Sarah Bob.
Joni Alicia Finegold, the daughter of Michael Finegold and his wife, Sondra, passed away from lung cancer in July 2012. She was treated by Dr. David Barbie, thoracic oncologist at Dana-Farber.

“The doctors and staff at Dana-Farber showed us what care and concern they have for all their patients,” said Sondra. “We want to continue fundraising for this splendid institution and in remembrance to a terrible time in our lives that was made bearable by the Dana-Farber community.”
Under the artistic direction of Michael Finegold, ECMP performs throughout the Merrimack Valley, Essex County, and New England area while in residence at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, Mass. The ECMP motto is, “Music for the Twenty-first Century: Treasures of the Past, New Music Premieres.”

The concert, held at Temple Emanuel, 7 Haggetts Pond Road in Andover, will begin at 2 p.m. with an introduction from Dr. Barbie. Tickets are $15 for students, $25 for general admission.
