Few Surprises In Andover Election

Dan Koh and the incumbents rolled to victory in races for Selectmen, School Committee and Moderator.

ANDOVER, MA — Dan Koh and incumbent Alex Vispoli won a four-way race for two seats on the Andover Board of Selectmen in Tuesday's town election. Koh, who received 2,732 votes according to unofficial results, replaces Paul Salafia, who did not run for re-election. Vispoli finished second and was re-elected with 2,229 votes.

Last year, Koh placed second in a 10-way Democratic primary for U.S. Representative, losing to eventual general election winner Lori Trahan by just 145 votes. From 2013 to last year, Koh was chief of staff to Boston Mayor Martin Walsh.

Roland Kim finished third with 1,743 votes, while Alexander Bromberg received 329 votes. In the race for moderator, incumbent Sheila Doherty received 2,549 votes to challenger Keith Saxon's 1,440. It was the 13th time Doherty won a one-year term as moderator in Andover.
