Local choir tells the story of Anne Frank through music
New England Classical Singers present Annelies on March 4 concert in Andover, MA

Local group the New England Classical Singers will bring Anne Frank's story to life through the music of James Whitbourn’s Annelies on Saturday, March 4 at Temple Emanual in Andover. Here's three reasons to see their upcoming concert:
1. Honor Anne Frank - The story of Anne Frank is as important today as it was in 1945. We must never forget the horrors of the Holocaust, and the courage shown by those persecuted. Ann was just a child when she began her now famous diary, and it's her humanity that makes her so relatable. Her words, her story is what makes Annelies so moving. The piece is structured to follow the themes of a liturgy, illustrating how Ann's words have become almost transcendent, taking on a scriptural sanctity. The motifs explored in Annelies are incredibly complex and touching - listening to Annelies is a worthy way to honor Ann's memory and learn more about who she was as a person.
2. Enjoy Classical Music in Your Own Backyard! The New England Classical Singers are an auditioned choral chamber ensemble of 30 voices, dedicated to sharing their love of music with the Merrimack Valley area. Based in Andover, MA, the group is well known for their annual performance of Handel's Messiah, and proud to present Annelies for their spring concert, taking place Saturday, March 4 at Temple Emanual.
