MA School Coronavirus Numbers: 83 Districts Report Cases

Four districts reported five or more coronavirus cases over the last week, while 317 had no new cases.

MASSACHUSETTS — Eighty-three Massachusetts school districts reported coronavirus cases among staff and students from Oct. 1 to Oct. 7, according to new district-by-district coronavirus data released by the state, Friday. Eight educational collaboratives and special education schools reported cases.

Of 163 total cases, 106 were students and 57 were staff. Only in-person and hybrid students and staff with building access were counted toward district numbers.

Four districts reported five or more cases: Hudson, with five student cases; Burlington, with five student cases and one staff case; Milton, with two student cases and six staff cases; and Haverhill, with eight student cases and two staff cases.

One special education school, JRI Meadowridge Littleton Academy School, reported six cases: three students and three staff members.

Fifty-one districts reported just one case and 317 reported none at all.

This map does not include 14 cases at the state's educational collaboratives and special education schools. JRI Meadowridge Littleton Academy School reported six cases and New England Center for Children School reported two. No other educational collaborative or special education school reported more than one case.
