Massachusetts State Police Accepts Donation of Trouble the Dog
Trouble the Dog will be utilized by Massachusetts State Police to give to children in the event of an accident, fire, or other emergency

On November 07, 2018, the Massachusetts State Police Department accepted a donation of "Trouble the Dog” plush toys from Columbia Gas of Massachusetts and The Kennek Foundation of Marblehead. Columbia Gas facilitated the donation, working with Sheila Duncan, Founder of The Kennek Foundation, as a way to support the local community. The Kennek Foundation provides comfort to children in crisis with the help of the character, Trouble the Dog, and the affiliated plush dogs and children's books. Trouble the Dog will be utilized by the Massachusetts State Police to give to children in the event of an accident, fire, domestic situation, or other emergency.
During the donation, Lt. Eric Bernstein, Commander, Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Andover noted, "Thank you for the generosity of Columbia Gas and The Kennek Foundation for the donation of 25 Trouble dogs. These plush dogs will be carried in State Police cruisers patrolling the cities and towns of the Merrimack Valley, and available to comfort children who may have been involved in a motor vehicle crash or other critical incident. Calming children involved in a traumatic incident will help us to break down barriers, determine if they are injured in any way, and provide a soothing distraction and escape from a chaotic situation."
Taking part in the donation are, L to R: State Trooper Robert MacAllister, Lt. Eric Bernstein, Commander, Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Andover, and Trooper Sean Kelley.
