Men Found Beaten, Zip-Tied In Andover Near Lawrence Line
The Eagle-Tribune reported that three men were found in an Andover neighborhood early Monday morning.
ANDOVER, MA — Three men were found with their hands zip-tied behind their backs in Andover early Monday, as first reported by the Eagle Tribune. Two of the men appeared badly beaten, police said. According to Andover Police Lt. Edward Guy, a resident in the neighborhood off Route 28 near the Lawrence line heard the three men yelling, early Monday morning, and called police.
The resident cut the zip tie off one man before police arrived, Guy said. That man claimed to be injured but appeared not to be, according to Guy. Police currently have relatively little information.
"They claimed they were dumped off on I-495 and came down here," Guy said. "They gave inconsistent statements."

"According to them, there was something that happened in Boston and something that happened in Lawrence, but unfortunately we're unable to tie that together. So we're really unsure what happened," Guy said.
The men spoke only Spanish, and a police officer from Lawrence had to assist as a translator, Guy said. All three men were taken to a hospital, and were uncooperative with officers that attempted to speak to them there. The men have since been released.

"Clearly these individuals were involved with some sort of incident earlier," Guy said. "We're going to continue our investigation as best we can."
The police believe they know who the three men are, but are not yet certain.
