Methuen Fentanyl Bust: $1M+ of Drugs Seized
Robinson Rojas-Rosario, of Queens, New York, was arrested in Methuen — days after a baby was exposed to the potentially fatal drug.
METHUEN, MA — A gun-toting drug dealer traveling with 15 kilograms of fentanyl was arrested in Methuen Monday morning, police said. Robinson Rojas-Rosario, 32, of Queens, New York, was held on $100,000 bail.
The value of the drugs is $1.2 million, according to Methuen police Chief Joseph Solomon.
Police said a witness called 911 after seeing Rojas-Rosario enter a taxi with a gun at about 8:40 a.m. Officers arrested him without incident in the area of Glen Avenue. They said they found him with a duffel bag full of fentanyl.

Solomon reminded the public that on Saturday, first responders revived a 10-month-old Methuen baby who was exposed to fentanyl.

“Our streets are safer now,” Methuen Mayor Stephen Zanni said in a statement. “Any effort we can make in fighting the opioid epidemic is progress, but removing such a large amount of this deadly substance from our streets is a huge success.”
Rojas-Rosario was held on $100,000 bail pending an arraignment.
