Restore the Earth Reuse & Recycle Drive benefits local non-profits and the Earth

Start putting aside unwanted homegoods, scrap metal, clothing, textiles, books and CDs to donate to the Reuse & Recycle Drive. In honor of Earth Day, Essex County Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Lawrence is partnering with the Epilepsy Foundation New England and Bay State Books to host this drive-through collection on Saturday, April 18 from 10am – 1pm.

“Part of the Habitat ReStore’s mission is to keep reusable and resellable items out of the landfill. One of our taglines is even Every day is Earth Day at the ReStore!” says Jim Kapelson, ReStore Director.“We fund Habitat’s building of affordable homes with the proceeds from sales of donated items. So this event is not only great for the Earth, but it will also help us meet our mission.”

Cars should pull into the back parking lot of the Habitat ReStore, located at 647 Andover Street in Lawrence, by turning from Andover Street onto Shepard Street and taking a left into the lot. There will be a greeter there to direct donors how to proceed through the one way set up. Runners will remove donations from vehicles and, if there are more than one type of donation, direct drivers to next station.
