State Police Looking For Suspect In Andover Road Rage Incident
A Billerica man was treated for injuries after fighting with the suspect on Interstate 93 during afternoon rush hour Monday.
ANDOVER, MA — Massachusetts State Police are trying to locate a man who was believed to be driving a blue or black Mazda CX-5 and got into a fist fight in the breakdown lane of Interstate 93 South in Andover Monday. The man was described as white and was wearing a blue shirt khaki cargo pants, and construction boots. A 36-year-old Billerica man involved in the fight was located a short time after the 5:20 p.m. incident by Tewksbury Police and taken to Lowell Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the State Police Barracks in Andover at 978-475-3800. It's the second high-profile road rage incident state police have investigated in as many weeks. A Gloucester woman and a Beverly woman are facing charges stemming from a fight on Route 128 that was caught on video.
"We would like to remind the public that if someone is acting aggressively towards you on the roadway, move away from the aggressor and slow down. This will often times be enough to diffuse the situation," State Police said in a statement. "If they continue to act aggressively towards you, please dial 911 and report the incident. Most importantly, never get out of your vehicle to confront an aggressive driver."
