2 Recreational Pot Shops Eyeing Arlington

Apothca is looking to change locations and open a recreational dispensary, while a second group spoke at the select board meeting this week.

ARLINGTON, MA – The number of applicants looking to open recreational marijuana dispensaries in Arlington is now at two and could go as high as three, according to YourArlington. Medical marijuana dispensary Apothca is seeking a move to the Swifty Printing storefront on Mass. Ave., where they would also offer recreational pot. The dispensary opened on Water Street last fall.

An affiliate of Northeastern Alternatives, a recreational and medical marijuana dispensary in Fall River, told the select board this week he and a partner would like to open a shop in the former Embassy Cleaners spot on Mass. Ave., YourArlington reported.

Town Meeting voted in December to allow Arlington to approve up to three licenses each for recreational and medical marijuana dispensaries. Three groups have inquired about recreational dispensaries with the town manager's office, Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine told the select board.
