Abbott's Frozen Custard Opens In Arlington
The NY-based chain of frozen custard shops held a grand opening ceremony in Arlington Center Friday.
ARLINGTON, MA — A New York-based chain of frozen custard shops opened its Arlington location Friday. The shop's grand opening ceremony starts at 2 p.m. and will feature Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Mike Kennealy, owner Jason Denoncourt and Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine. Free frozen custard will be served.
Abbott's Arlington is the chain's fourth location in the Boston area; Abbott's also has shops in Brighton, Needham and Lexington.
Abbott's opened its first shop in Rochester, NY in 1926, 24 years after founder Arthur Abbott started selling frozen custard at carnivals along the east coast. It now has 40 locations spanning Massachusetts to Florida.
