ARLINGTON, MA — Residents will have an opportunity to meet members of the Arlington Police Department later this month during a community outreach event at police headquarters, according to the department.
The event, called "Conversation at the Station," is scheduled for Thursday, June 25, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Arlington Police Department Community Room.
Police said the event will give residents a chance to speak with officers and staff in an informal setting while enjoying coffee and refreshments.
Attendees will be able to learn more about the various roles within the department, including who answers 911 calls, responds to animal complaints, conducts traffic safety enforcement, and oversees grant-funded traffic initiatives. Residents will also have an opportunity to meet department leadership and ask questions about police operations.
“This is a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about the various roles within the department, and get to know the people who serve our community,” the department said in a statement.
Police said residents may also have the chance to meet K9 Eiko and Comfort Dog Roger during the event.
The Arlington Police Department has long emphasized community engagement as part of its policing strategy and regularly partners with residents and local organizations on public safety initiatives. The department says those partnerships help address quality-of-life concerns and strengthen trust between officers and the community.
The event is free and open to the public. The department said it hopes the gathering will provide an opportunity for open communication in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
