Arlington Public Schools Hiring Additional Crossing Guards

Crossing guards' main responsibility is to help students safely travel to and from school each day.

ARLINGTON, MA — The public school district is seeking crossing guards for the upcoming school year and is encouraging retirees and other community members looking for flexible part-time work to apply.

Crossing guards help students safely travel to and from school each day. The positions follow the school calendar, with guards working from September through June for approximately 45 minutes before school and 45 minutes after school, totaling 1.5 hours per shift.

Successful applicants will earn $40 per shift, or approximately $26.67 per hour, and will receive training provided by the Arlington Police Department.

Interested applicants should contact Arlington Public Schools Director of Human Resources Rob Spiegel. The Arlington Police Department said the opportunity is a way for residents to make a difference while helping keep students safe throughout the school year.
