New Arlington Brewery And Taproom Expected To Open Next Spring

This brewery is getting a full-time home after five years in Arlington.

ARLINGTON, MA — A local brewing company is preparing to begin construction on its first permanent home in Arlington.

Arlington Brewing Company will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 15 Ryder St. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m., marking the start of construction on a project nearly two years in the making. The location will include a production brewery, taproom, full-service kitchen, and outdoor beer garden and is expected to open next spring.

Construction company Haynes is hosting the ceremony, with Arlington Brewing Company President and Head Brewer Tom Allen, representatives from Reisen Design Associates, and Arlington elected officials expected to attend.

"We've spent the last several years building Arlington Brewing Company without a permanent home," Allen said in a statement.

According to the company, the new location will provide space for customers to gather for locally brewed beer, food, live music, and community events. Allen, a longtime homebrewer and former engineer, leads the brewery, which produces IPAs, lagers, traditional British ales, and seasonal beers.

Arlington Brewing Company was founded in 2021 and launched beer sales in 2023, building its business through pop-up events and beer gardens while using contract brewing to expand production. Its local appearances have included events at the Jason Russell House, Arlington Reservoir, and Old Schwamb Mill.

The company announced the Ryder Street location in October 2024 after more than three years of searching for a permanent home. The property is near the Minuteman Bikeway, local parks, and Ed Burns Arena.

The brewery earned international recognition earlier this year when its Trafford Ale won a gold medal in the English Mild or Bitter category at the 2026 World Beer Cup. The British-style pub ale features toasty malt and Fuggles hops. The awards were presented on Wednesday, April 22, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

Haynes, which is overseeing construction, was founded in 2001 by brothers Mike and Bryan Haynes. The commercial construction management company has offices in West Bridgewater and Providence, R.I.
