Researchers at McLean Hospital are investigating factors that make some females better able to cope with stressful experiences and what makes some females more vulnerable to experiencing depression. By participating, you can help them better understand, prevent, and treat adolescent depression. Participants will answer questions about their thoughts and feelings and will also undergo an fMRI brain scan. Parent permission is required for females under 18. McLean Hospital Study on Stress and the Teen Brain. Earn up to $299

We are inviting healthy female teens between the ages of 13-15 to participate in a research study. Teens can earn up to $594 if they qualify and receive a picture of their&nbsp;brain. Researchers at McLean Hospital are investigating how stress may influence mood and brain activity. Teens will answer questions about their thoughts and feelings. Teens will&nbsp;also undergo an fMRI brain scan. Teens will also be asked to fill out very brief surveys on their smartphone and to wear a smartwatch that tracks their heart rate, skin&nbsp;conductance, physical activity (i.e., step count), and sleep patterns. Dr. Benjamin Remillard will discuss the role of New England’s people of color in the Revolution, what drew them to the Patriot or Loyalist causes, as well as what life was like for them and their communities after the war as the new nation struggled to find its footing.Benjamin Remillard is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of History and Classics at Providence College. He recently received his Ph.D. in History from the University of New Hampshire and his current book project, Friends, Brothers, and Citizens: The Revolutionary War Veterans of Color Who Shaped the Early Republic, explores the lives of the Revolution’s veterans and non-veteran Patriots of color who lived across the Northeast during the early American republic.
