Arlington Administrators Mull New High School Start Time

Officials are considering a new start time as they finalize the calendar for the 2019-20 school year.

ARLINGTON, MA – Superintendent Kathleen Bodie shared a rough calendar for the 2019-20 school year at this month's School Committee meeting. Included in the calendar were "major dates" – first and last day of school and holidays – with dates for conferences and early releases to come later, according to YourArlington.

Bodie also suggested starting high school at 8:30 a.m. Many other schools in the area have implemented a later start time, Bodie said.

The committee decided it will seek additional feedback from the community and vote on the proposal within a month, YourArlington reported.
