Arlington Beer Garden Approved

The beer garden will be open Saturdays only in July and all weekend starting Aug. 4.

ARLINGTON, MA – Arlington Center will get a beer garden this summer. The select board on Monday approved the beer garden in Whittemore Park, which will be hosted by Somerville-based Aeronaut Brewing Company.

The vote was 4-0 with selectman Joe Curro absent, according to the Arlington Advocate. The beer garden will open July 7 and operate solely on Saturdays throughout the month of July. It will open for the full weekend starting Aug. 4 and run through September.

Aeronaut will pay the town $400 to use the park and an additional $432 in parking fees to house a storage pod for equipment, the Advocate reported. Per the agreement, Aeronaut will rent porta-potties and bicycle racks to prevent overflow to nearby businesses and sell food from local vendors instead of food trucks.
