Arlington Bike-Share Users Have Quadrupled Since Launch

Plus, where are the most popular places to pick up and drop off bikes in town?

ARLINGTON, MA – The number of dockless bike-share users in Arlington has quadrupled since its launch more than three months ago, according to town data released this week. Since mid-July, 5,106 riders have signed up for LimeBike, biking more than 14,942 miles.

LimeBike users have taken more than 15,000 rides on the dockless system, averaging about 1,100 rides per week since the end of August. That is more than seven times the number of rides recorded in mid-July, according to the town.

Riders typically bike about 0.5 miles and spend about 10 minutes per trip. The top locations for starting and ending trips are below:

Manual LimeBikes cost $1 per 30 minutes; Lime-E electric bikes cost $1 to unlock plus $0.15 per minute to ride. Lime also offers Lime Access, which provides discounted rides for individuals who can demonstrate that they qualify or participate in any state or federally-run assistance program by possessing an EBT card, a discounted utility bill, or other official document.

Once you qualify for Lime Access, you can purchase 100 rides on manual bikes for $5, which can be paid in cash and does not require the use of a smartphone. In addition, Lime Access members receive a 50 percent discount to use Lime-E bikes. Read about Lime Access.
