Arlington 'Gastro Gaming Pub' Opens This Week

ARLINGTON, MA – A "gastro gaming pub" on Massachusetts Ave. will hold a soft opening this week. Adventure Pub will open at 190 Mass. Ave. Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. The bar moved into 190 Mass. Ave., the one-time location of Flora, which closed after 20 years and became French restaurant Bistro Duet for a short stint.

Adventure Pub's Facebook page promises a seasonal menu in addition to beer, wine and cocktails, tabletop games and "group Immersive Game and Storytelling experiences." Area restaurant veteran Jason Smith has been hired as executive chef, and founder and general manager Athena Peters will use her company Incantrix Productions to produce gaming events.

The pub is still waiting on approval for its liquor license and has a few decor items to put up, so its grand opening will take place next year, according to a Facebook post. It has a library of tabletop games, as well as "special events that blur the line between Interactive Theatre, Escape Rooms and Live Action Role Play."

Adventure Pub's hours are 2 p.m. to midnight Wednesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to midnight on the weekends.
