Arlington High Football Awarded New Helmets

Grant will buy eight new, state-of-the-art helmets.

When ’s football team steps onto the field next fall, they will be sporting eight brand-new, top-of-the-line helmets.

The new equipment comes from a grant awarded by USA Football, a youth football development nonprofit and NFL partner. The $1,500 grant will buy eight new helmets, each valued at about $200.

Incoming football Head Coach John Dubzinski, who applied for the grant, said the equipment will be a welcome addition to his team. “These helmets are state-of-the-art and go through rigorous amounts of tests for concussions,” he added.

Dubzinski, who starts this fall as Arlington High’s head football coach, said his team has already started to prepare for the upcoming season.

“They’re working in the weight room day in and day out,” he said. “You need to put in the time. That’s when championships are made—when kids are working on the off season.”
