Arlington To Hold HS Forum, Tours Ahead Of June Vote
A town-wide debt exclusion vote to pay for a new school will take place June 11.

ARLINGTON, MA — The following announcement was submitted by the town of Arlington.
To help residents learn more about the AHS Building Project in advance of the June 11 town-wide debt exclusion vote to pay for a new school, the AHS Building Committee has scheduled the following events:
May 21 Community Forum

7 p.m,. Town Hall
AHS Building Committee leaders will present details on the educational vision, design concept and cost. Residents are invited to ask questions and provide feedback.
Tours of the High School

Tours will last approximately 45 minutes and will be followed by a brief informational Q&A.
- May 23, 7pm - tours will depart between 7-7:20pm
- June 2, 1pm - tours will depart between 1-1:20pm

The state approved Arlington’s Schematic Design in April and will contribute an estimated $86M to the $291M project. If the June debt exclusion is approved, a final year of design work would start this summer. Construction could begin as early as summer 2020 with the first buildings available to students in early 2022.
