Arlington Ice Cream Shop Rebrands Itself
The ice cream shop formerly known as Chilly Cow reopened in late March.
ARLINGTON, MA – The name might have changed, but your favorite ice cream will stay the same. Arlington's Chilly Cow rebranded itself as Abilyn's Frozen Bakery, opening March 24. The shop serves frappes, ice cream cakes, cones and cups with a focus on "bakery style" ice cream.
Owner Brian LeClair told the Arlington Advocate the name change came after he settled with a large ice cream manufacturer who wanted to make a product called "Chilly Cow." LeClair owned the trademarks to the name and had been considering a rebrand beforehand, so he decided to avoid a lengthy legal battle, according to the Advocate.
New menu offerings include an ice cream cookie sandwich and ice cream cupcakes. LeClair also removed some items that were not selling well.
