Arlington Man Charged With OUI After Crash
The 28-year-old was arrested after crashing into a tree Sunday morning.

ARLINGTON, MA – An Arlington man was charged with drunken driving following a crash Sunday morning, police said. Officers responded to the intersection of Forest Street and Summer Street shortly after 3 a.m. and found a 2010 Nissan Maxima resting against a tree on the sidewalk, according to the police report.
The driver, 28-year-old Osakhodarome Omwanor, was getting out of the car when officers approached, police said. Officers smelled an odor of alcohol coming from Omwanor, whose eyes were "extremely bloodshot and glassy," the report stated.
Omwanor had a small laceration on the bridge of his nose but told police he was uninjured and declined a medical examination. Police said he was driving south on Forest Street before crossing over to the northbound side, driving over the curb and a small tree and crashing into a larger tree.

Omwanor walked around the car to inspect the damage and had to brace himself on the car, according to police. He told officers he was looking at the GPS on his phone and realized he had missed his turn, which caused him to crash, the report stated.
When asked if he had been drinking, Omwanor told police he had one beer and was coming from his friend's house in Woburn, according to the report. He struggled to remember the name of his street, and officers asked again if he had been drinking.

He replied that he had "two Coronas" and held up two fingers, police said.
Based on the results of a field sobriety test and his demeanor at the scene, Omwanor was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol (first offense), impeding the operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.
