Arlington Man in Court Today Following Marijuana Grow House Bust

Jonathan M. Pore is accused of cultivating marijuana down the street from Fox Library in east Arlington.

An Arlington man will appear in court today on three drug charges, after police on Thursday executed a search warrant at his east Arlington home and .

say that Jonathan M. Pore, 23, was growing 150 to 170 marijuana plants at his home on 47 Cleveland St., an amount that some officials estimated to have a street value of $100,000.

Pore is being charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, drug violation near a park and cultivation of marijuana. The house where he was arrested is minutes from   and in east Arlington.

Capt. Richard Flynn, who was at the scene late afternoon, said there were about 150 to 170 plants at the 47 Cleveland St. house. Officers at the scene said they'd estimate the plants to weigh between 20 and 40 lbs.

Chief Fred Ryan said the arrest comes from a lengthy investigation following a tip about the operation.

While police executed the search warrant, several neighbors were standing by, watching as police seized evidence. Some told Arlington Patch they never noticed anything unusual about the house.
