Arlington Memorial Day Ceremonies: What to Know

Here's what you need to know heading into Memorial Day Weekend.

ARLINGTON, MA—Arlington's Memorial Day festivities are just around the corner, and this year will bring a different feel to the events.

There will not be a parade from Walgreen's to Monument Park, as there had been in years past. This year, the entire ceremony will be conducted at Town Hall, in order to alleviate concerns regarding bad weather and to allow more residents to participate, according to a town announcement.

This year, the ceremony will start at 9:30 a.m. in the auditorium of Town Hall. The town will be dedicating the final veteran's burial lot at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The lot will be dedicated in honor of the men and women who have served the U.S. throughout the on-going Global War on Terrorism.

Major General Jeffery Clark will serve as the keynote speaker, and Medal of Honor recipient Capt. Thomas Kelly will provide his remarks, along with local and state officials.
