Arlington Officers Honored at Annual Awards Ceremony

Numerous officers received awards at the event.

ARLINGTON, MA—Arlington’s finest were celebrated Thursday for their commitment to the city.

According to an announcement from the Arlington Police, Parking Control Officer Willie Smith earned Employee of the Year honors, Inspector Stephen Porciello earned Officer of the Year honors and Lt. Michael Sheehan earned Excellence in Leadership Honors.

“I congratulate all officers who were honored for their hard work in 2015,” Chief Ryan said in the announcement. “The Arlington Police Department is made up of top-notch officers and dispatchers that continuously go above and beyond the call of duty to serve the residents of this community.”

Officer Robert Gamez’s retirement was honored, and Captain Richard Flynn earned the Top Gun award. Below is a complete list of honorees, according to the Arlington Police Department.
