ARLINGTON, MA — More COVID-19 vaccine clinics are in the works in Arlington, the town said Thursday, after ushering in a regional effort to vaccinate first responders. The Health Department vaccinated area police officers, firefighters, EMTs, school nurses and support personnel at Arlington High School from Jan. 12-14.

"Belmont, Lexington, and Watertown have been our partners in emergency planning for many years, and we are able to use these clinics to plan for larger scale clinics expected in the coming months," Christine Bongiorno, director of Health & Human Services, said. "These clinics are a big step in public health. It's been particularly rewarding to provide the vaccination to first responders and school nurses who have been on the front lines combating this virus since last spring. Our goal is to be able to expand our ability to offer more vaccinations."

Approximately 600 doses of the Moderna vaccine will be administered this week through these regional clinics. The second dose of the vaccines will also be scheduled as part of these clinics.

Submission of your information does not guarantee placement, nor does it bound you to get vaccinated by the Health Department. It is only a mechanism to alert priority groups of possible Health Department-run vaccination clinics. Depending on the priority group, it may be weeks before you hear from the Health Department. You may submit your information here.

Once the vaccine is available to the public in Phase 3, public vaccine clinics will be available on
the CDC’s interactive website: vaccinefinder.org.
