Arlington Police Arrest Man On NJ Sexual Assault Charges

ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington police arrested a Cambridge man on sexual assault charges out of New Jersey.
Wolide Yessuf, 18, is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in North Bergen, NJ. Authorities said he met the victim on social media and traveled with her and another juvenile girl from Massachusetts to a motel in North Bergen.
There, Yessuf provided the victim with drugs and alcohol before sexually assaulting her, the prosecutor in Hudson County, NJ said.

Yessuf was arrested in Arlington at 1:45 p.m. Monday. He is awaiting extradition to New Jersey, where he will face charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
