Arlington Police Chief Addresses 'Militarization' of Local Police

Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryan recently sat down with WCVB to address the “militarization” of local police, an issue that has garnered national attention with the ongoing protests in Ferguson, Missouri.
Ryan said police departments’ equipment is “rising to the level of the threat that we’ve seen, unfortunately, in America.”
Ryan said, “All of our equipment, all of it, where you characterize it as military or not, is defensive.”
