Arlington To Restore Uncle Sam Statue, Limiting Plaza Access
Restoration of the monument will begin next week.

ARLINGTON, MA – The restoration of the Uncle Sam monument in Uncle Sam Plaza at the intersection of Mystic Street and Massachusetts Avenue will begin next week. Work will start Monday, Aug. 20, fencing off the area immediately surrounding the statue.
This will limit access to part of the plaza during restoration, according to the town. The project is expected to be completed in two weeks.
The town does not anticipate impacts to the Minuteman Bikeway.
