Arlington School Committee Votes in Favor of Sixth Grade-Only Configuration

The Arlington School Committee voted to move forward with a sixth-grade only configuration at the Gibbs School building.

ARLINGTON, MA—The Arlington School Committee has made its choice regarding the long-lasting debate between a sixth-grade only model and a grade 6-8 model at the Gibbs Building.

During Thursday Night's meeting of the Arlington School Committee, committee members voted 7-1 in favor of a motion to go forward with Superintendent Kathleen Bodie's recommendation of a sixth grade only configuration at the Gibbs building.

School Committee member Leonard Kardon was the lone committee member who voted in opposition of the motion.
