The district is looking at the possibility of two modular classrooms to address the increase.
ARLINGTON, MA — The number of students enrolled in the Arlington Public Schools is now 5,989, an increase of 146 over last year, according to preliminary enrollment data from the district. The number will be officially tallied Oct. 1 and then sent to the state for verification in November.
According to YourArlington, the district's budget predicted an increase of 133 students. Once the student count is verified by the state, the budget will be adjusted by a factor of $7,166 per student.
Administrators submitted a placeholder budget item for two modular classrooms to address the number of students, YourArlington reported. The elementary schools saw the highest change in enrollment.
