Arlington Sees 'Recent Surge' in Flu Cases

The Board of Health urged residents to take extra precaution.

ARLINGTON, MA—Flu season typically strikes communities across the world, but it has taken a unusual toll on Arlington.

According to Arlington's Director of Health and Human Services Christine Bongiorno, Arlington has seen a recent surge in flu cases in town this season. However, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention classifies the Commonwealth as having moderate influenza activity.

"While flu season is technically almost over, we are urging the community to remain aware of the virus' threat as we transition into spring," said Bongiorno in a town statement. "Please take caution as you go about your day and be mindful that the flu is more active than normal this late into the season."
