Arlington Town Day 2016: Your Complete Guide

Arlington's annual celebration is nearly upon us. Here is what you need to know.

ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington's Town Day begins Friday night, and is one of the most highly-anticipated Town events of the year.

The celebrations begin Friday night with Town Night at 5 p.m. and are set to feature train rides, pony rides, moon bounces, face painting, the ArtMobile and food, as well as a fireworks display. Events will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m., and the fireworks display is set to take place between 7:30 and 8 p.m.

According to the latest Patch weekend forecast, we are expecting clear skies and temperatures in the mid-seventies Friday, and partly cloudy skies Saturday with a high of 77.

Town Night will also feature a Dog Show beginning at 6 p.m. Free registration will take place from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Prizes will be given out for best costume, best dog trick, best dog and owner look alike, best pure bred, best mutt, smallest dog in town, largest dog in town and Arlington's best in show.

  • 9 a.m.: Flag Raising and Selectmen Welcome by Selectmen Kevin Greeley
  • 9:15 a.m.: Arlington Cheerleaders
  • 10 a.m.: Arlington Children's Theatre
  • 10:30 a.m.: Tufts sQ!
  • 11 a.m.: Arlington High School Jazz Band
  • 12 p.m.: George Knight MC/WERS Radio
  • 12 p.m.: Pablo Palooza
  • 1 p.m.: Dirty Dottys
  • 2 p.m.: Air Traffic Controller

Town Garden

  • 10 a.m.: The Maxims Band
  • 11:30 a.m.: Karen K and the Jitterbugs
  • 12 p.m.: Uke in the Afternoon
  • 1 p.m.: Glorious Noise
  • 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Bella the Clown
  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Tribal Sun Airbrush Tattoos
  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Caricatures
  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: The Well Dressed Pony

Town Day Run

The Town Day run begins at 8:30 a.m. and is open to all ages. The route is 2.7 miles, starting and ending in front of Arlington High School and the entrance fee is $20.
