Arlington Town Day 2019 Schedule Set

The 43rd annual Town Day celebration will be held this month. Here's what you need to know.

ARLINGTON, MA — The 43rd annual Arlington Town Day celebration is set for Saturday, Sept. 14. The event will take place on Massachusetts Avenue between Pleasant and Jason Streets from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. This area of Mass. Ave., as well as access from adjoining side streets, will be closed.

Arlington Police Department
Please come and visit the Arlington Police Department's table located on Massachusetts Avenue at the Robbins Library for public safety information and discussion. Our Family Services Team will be available to provide assistance on a wide range of topics and the APD Mental Health Clinician will be sharing facts on the Arlington Opiate Outreach Initiative and treatment resources available for residents. Animal Control Officer Diane Welch will be on hand providing information on pets and wildlife and K9 Officer Michael Hogan along with the APD's K9 “Eiko” will be conducting demonstrations throughout the day in the Robbins Library parking lot.

Stop by the Planning and Community Development booth and meet our staff and volunteers. Spin the wheel for a bookmark, and learn about our work and upcoming planning activities, including the Net Zero Plan, the Sustainable Transportation Plan, and zoning initiatives.

The Library Does Town Day
Stop by the library booth and the Arlington Libraries Foundation booth on Town Day! Say hi to Library Director Andrea Nicolay, learn what’s new, and how you can support your libraries. The annual Friends of the Robbins Library annual Town Day Book Sale is again offering great deals for a great cause.

After Town Day, Enjoy These Activities

Sept. 14. 4-6PM: Garage Band: A Town Day Dance Party

After experiencing the best that Arlington has to offer at Town Day, head over to Garage Band, an After Party organized by Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture (ACAC) and hosted by Arlington Service Station. Bring your dancing shoes to fully enjoy a diverse program of music in the town's hippest new venue for the arts – an old time neighborhood garage covered with polka dots. Garage Band runs from 4:00-6:00 on Saturday, September 14 at Arlington Service Station, 334 Mass Ave in Arlington. Read full details at artsarlington.org.

Sept. 15, 3-6PM Pathways Celebration

ACAC will celebrate this season's temporary public art installations along the Minuteman Bikeway, Pathways, from 3 to 6 pm at Spy Pond Park. Activities include a walking tour with 4 participating artists and live music. Learn more at artsarlington.org.
