Arlington's Downing Square Water Main Work Begins Monday

Nearby residents are advised to fill some containers with water ahead of the water main rehabilitation work hours.

ARLINGTON, MA – Contractors will be completing a water main rehabilitation project in Downing Square this week. Work will take place between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Monday, June 4 through Thursday, June 7.

Downing Square is at the intersection of Park Avenue, Lowell Street, Westminster Avenue, Park Avenue Extension and Bow Street.

Nearby residents are advised that louder work is expected to be completed earlier in the evening, and police will be on-scene to help with traffic management, increase work zone safety and enforce parking restrictions. Temporary detours may be in place.

It is possible that temporary shut downs to water service may be required during work hours. As such, it is recommended that residents draw some water in containers ahead of work hours for use during the evening or emergencies.

Should water service be interrupted, it is advisable to run water through an outside faucet or any cold
water faucet for several minutes in order to flush out your water lines.
