Arlington's Little Fox Managers Fired; Petition Seeks Answers

The Fox Library's resale shop closed Aug. 10 after the two longtime managers were fired.

ARLINGTON, MA – Petitioners in Arlington are asking the Friends of the Fox Library Board to explain why the two longtime managers of the Little Fox Shop were fired. The resale shop closed Aug. 10 after Susan Dorson and Stephanie Murphy were let go. According to the Little Fox website, the closure is temporary "while we seek a new manager."

A petition posted on local Facebook groups over the weekend suggests Dorson and Murphy were fired because the board wants to have more control over management and have them work all shifts, according to YourArlington. Board members did not respond to the site's requests for comment, YourArlington reported.

The petition's questions for the board range from why the managers were fired when the shop was performing well to how the board plans on replacing volunteers who may leave if a new manager is hired. It asks that the board submit these answers in writing or at a public town meeting.
