Bakery Opens In Longtime Bagels By Us Space In Arlington

ARLINGTON, MA — A bakery moving into one-half of the former Bagels by Us space on Mass. Ave. has opened, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. Butternut Bakehouse joins Jose's Torta Mexicana at 787 Massachusetts Ave., where Bagels by Us sat for 22 years before closing in 2018.

The bakery serves salads, pastries, cakes, cookies, coffee, tea and juice. It shares the space with Jose's, which is run by the owner of Jose's in Cambridge and recently opened as well.

Bagels by Us closed last March. A marijuana dispensary was briefly considered for the space but ultimately opened on Water Street in October.
